Here the lifting part of this demonstration would not be appropriate in the United Kingdom because of Moving and Handling Regulations. It is clear to see how the Turning Disk is helpful in getting the patient’s legs into the car.

Gisi demonstrates how to get a patient, who is unable to help much, to get from the wheelchair into the car with the aid of a Sliding Sheet. Also here the lifting part of this demonstration would not be appropriate in the United Kingdom because of Moving and Handling Regulations.
As one can see, unlike the Turning Disk, with the Sliding Sheet one can position the patient on the car seat, and easily assit the patient to scoot back ont he seat.
Unlike the Turning Disk though, the Sliding Sheet MUST BE REMOVED as soon as the patient is settled.
